Endowment Fund and Legacy Society

Established in October 2020, the Resurrection Catholic School Endowment Fund was made possible by a major gift from a donor. The Endowment Fund is managed by the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas (CFNEK) in cooperation with Resurrection’s Board Finance Committee.

What is an endowment fund? An endowment fund is an established investment fund with consistent withdrawals from invested income.  Resurrection's Endowment allows for semi-annually withdrawal of interest, with the option of using the funds for current needs or reinvesting the amount into the endowment.  As donors contribute to the endowment principal, the invested income amount increases, while the principal amount is untouchable.

Why choose to contribute to an endowment fund?

An endowment is a permanent investment of gifts from which the income earned will be used to support Resurrection school for generations to come, because only the income or interest earned is available to be used for school expenses. This ensures that your original gift to the fund is never spent and is a legacy gift that lives on. The everlasting impact on the school as the endowment continues to grow will far exceed the original donation of the donors who give to help the fund grow. It is truly a way for Catholic parents, grandparents, and alumni to come together to support and be a witness for the school that exhibits a love for the education the children receive at Resurrection.

You can join the Resurrection School Legacy Society by making a gift to the endowment fund, even just a small percentage of a financial asset or through a life insurance policy, or retirement account, or especially through a bequest in your estate plans will qualify. With gratitude, your legacy gift will be recognized as such by your membership in the society. Legacy society members are also members of the archdiocesan, Catholic Legacy Society of Northeast Kansas, with the opportunity to be thanked in the annual report published by the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas.  Click here to join our legacy society.

Is there a minimum amount I have to give? No. There is not a minimum amount. Any amount is appreciated and helps make a difference.

Is my contribution tax-deductible? Resurrection is a registered 501(c)(3) and your gift is tax deductible in alignment with IRS guidelines.

How do I contribute? Contributions can be made in-person, online, or by mail to Resurrection Catholic School.

“An endowment is an important part of our long-term commitment to provide a high-quality Catholic education to deserving students, not only for today, but for generations to come. As the endowment grows, so does the impact.”
